20 Mobile Tools That Will Make You Stand Out–Really?

I came across this nice presentation from Inman Next Agent on the 20 Mobile Tools that Will Make You Stand Out.  Though many of them are uniquely for the United States (the Multiple Listings Systems (MLS) systems integrated with many of these RE apps are institutionalized and light years ahead of ours), some apps recommended can be used by Philippine real estate professionals.  Do you recognize or use any of the following sites:

Closer to Manila, there’s one, ground-breaking Philippine mobile app that Filipinos can be mighty be proud of.  The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) developed the Metro Manila Traffic Navigator for the iPad and iPhone. If you’re wieldy enough with handling your phone while weaving thru traffic, then the Metro Manila Traffic Navigator is the closest you’ll get to a free GPRS.   
Integrated with map and network functions, you can see where traffic bottlenecks are to your destination. More vicinities and routes are being added on regular basis.
Apart from this, we’ll just have to satisfy ourselves surfing websites on our mobile phone at best.  We have the Philippine-made RPMLX.com (from the Philippine Association of Real Estate Boards) and MLS.com.ph by NAR-CREBA Council, but no actual listings exchange and update functions for either of the sites.  We still have a long way to go for systems and information integration, as we yet have to write out the policy framework for property data exchange for trading and lease. That will require transparency in transactions.    I  know that our local appraisers already have access to assessed value for properties for their own appraisal system.  But for the most part the system will need to reference standards and policies for real estate valuation from the key agencies such as  Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Land Registration Authority (LRA) for title verification and services, as well as the City Assessors in the municipalities for the proper zoning and valuation of the property.
We’re so much at the early stages of technology adaptation for use in  Philippine real estate professional service.  Most of us in the business would (and perhaps should)  have mobile classics such as Docs To Go for storing and distributing documents; email; photo sharing via Picasa or Flickr.com, and the de-facto social media apps–Facebook, Twitter and YouTube–when we need to share insights on a location, snap & share photos of a really good property, blast open houses or serve a client inquiry. There are many who don’t even store or distribute their proposals thru their phone.  That’s a critical app when time is of the essence, and a submission 5 minutes ahead of another broker may make the difference in your getting the deal!
With so many affordable smartphones and handheld devices coming out in today’s market, Philippine real estate professionals wanting to look smart and tech should exercise prudence in their choice of tools, as well as apps. The smart phone and mobile handheld devices are today’s indispensable partner in moving your real estate practice even further, faster.
